My History also runs a series of courses for Family Historian where Jackie Depelle (beginners) and Jane Taubman (intermediate/advanced) are the tutors. My History also has a full time employee Stephen Buttle who is our charting expert and we allow him out occasionally to teach people how to get the best out of the chart facilities within the program. |

 A concise 3 hour course by experienced local tutor Jackie Depelle, into how to research and record your Family History in Family Historian V5.
This course focuses on entering the information that you find when researching your family history. It is not just about learning the program as Jackie will bring in hints and tips of how best to use the program in relation to the data you collect.
All our courses are based on the latest edition of the software. The following may be subject to minor changes:
10.30 am - Arrival & coffee
11 am - Lecture 1 - Introduction to Family Historian
Project window and its uses. Focus Window - Root Person (Home), Navigation, Tabs. Entering information via the focus window/properties. Entering information via a diagram. Importing a gedcom file. Navigating around the tree using the Focus window. Closing down and Backing up.
12.15 pm Lunch break. We encourage you to bring a packed lunch and we will have a member of our Family Historian support staff available throughout the break to answer specific queries on the program. Drinks will be provided.
1.00 pm Adding Extra Information
Tab views of the Properties Window. Creating Sources and Repositories. Linking sources to facts using Citations. Using the add on program 'Ancestral Sources'. Adding an image to individuals and using a multiple image. Using Local notes and Note Records. Brief introduction to using images, diagrams and reports, and sharing information with relatives.

Courses are held at the Ivanhoe Centre, Conisborough, DN12 3JX, which has a cafe facility should you prefer not to bring a packed lunch. Full joining instructions will be sent 14 days before commencement of the course.

Family Historian User Meetings in 2013 - Pudsey, LeedsNext meetings provisionally planned for 26th January 2013, 11th May 2013 and 19th October 2013
TWR Computing and My History are sponsors of the Family Historian User Meetings in Pudsey, Leeds, Yorkshire. We would encourage anyone using the program and living in the area to get involved. These meetings are for beginners and experienced users who wish to learn more about the program.
