Pigot's 1830 Directory was originally produced as a single publication covering the whole country. Over the years many copies became disbound and pages were lost. We obtained a re-bound copy of the pages for the counties of Norfolk and Northamptonshire (including the maps). This accounts for the page numbers being 527 to 632, rather than starting at 1.
The Directory for Norfolk covers Attleburgh (with Great & Little Ellingham); Aylesham & Cawston; Buckenham (New & Old); Burnham Market, North & South Creake; Cley & Blakeney; Cromer; Diss; Docking, Heacham & Snettisham; Downham; East Dereham (with Elmham, Shipdham, Swanton, & Yaxham); Fakenham & Hempton; Foulsham; Harleston (with Reddenhall); Harling (East & West) & Kenninghall (with North & South Lopham); Hingham; Holt & Letheringsett; Lynn Regis & Castle Rising; North Walsham & Worstead; Norwich; Reepham (with Hackford, Kerdiston & Whitwell); Stoke Ferry (with Feltwell, Methwold, Mundford & Northwold; Swaffham & Castle Acre; Thetford; Walsingham (Great & Little) & Hindringham; Watton; Wells; Wymondham and Yarmouth (with Caistor, Gorleston & South-Town).
The Directory for Northamptonshire covers Brackley; Corby & Weldon; Daventry & Weedon (with Braunston & Long Buckby); Higham Ferrers; Kettering & Rothwell; Northampton (with Duston, Hardingstone, Kingsthorpe & Kislingbury); Oundle; Peterborough; Thrapstone (with Islip); Towcester (with Abthorpe) and Wellingborough.

The plan of the work embraces a general history and description of Norfolk, and the City and County of the City of Norwich ; and contains the spirit of all that has been previously written on the subject, extracted from ancient and modern authors, and from the voluminous parliamentary reports of Public Charities, Population, &c.; together, with a variety of Agricultural, Commercial, Statistical, Biographical, and Topographical Information ; and comprehending a Survey of Antiquities, Roads, Rivers, Ports, Railroads, Public Buildings, Charities, County Courts, Pour Law Unions, and Civil and Ecclesiastical Jurisdictions. The Topography of the county commences with East Norfolk, at page 329, and contains an alphabetical arrangement of the Hundreds and Parishes in their respective Divisions : shewing the situation, extent, and population of the boroughs, towns, villages, and extra-parochial liberties; the owners of the soil, and lords of the manors: the nature and value of the church livings, with their patrons and incumbents: the places of worship, public buildings, institutions, and charities, trade and commerce: local occurrences, and objects of interest and curiosity. Each parish is followed by the addresses of the gentry and other principal residents, with a classification of trades and professions. The Directory of Norwich, in addition to a classification of trades and professions, is accompanied by an alphabetical list of persons; so that the address and occupation of any individual may instantly be referred to ; and the whole is preceded by a copious index of places, persons, and subjects, affording an easy reference to the page at which every parish and village is to be found ; thus giving to the volume all the advantage of an alphabetical gazetteer.

The size of the directory means that it is published as a two CD set. The first CD contains Indexes; General History & Description of the County; Places from Acle to Norton-Subcourse inclusive plus History & Description of Norwich. The second CD contains Norwich Street & Alphabetical directories; Places from No-where to Yaxham inclusive; Trades Directory for the County; Advertising Directory.
As with so many of these directories, the map was missing when we obtained the book, as was the title page. However, the rest of the book is complete and the CDs contain over 1000 pages covering the whole of the county of Norfolk in 1883 in the detail typical of William White's directories.
